The Grove Antiques Centre

Classic Elegance for Contemporary Living

Lesley Phillips, who has been closely involved with antiques for over fifteen years, owns The Grove Antiques Centre and looks forward to welcoming you to this elegant listed Georgian town house. The Grove Antiques Centre is situated in Devon in the middle of Honiton's bustling High Street. The Centre opened in September 1999 to provide a combination of cabinets and room settings on three floors. Our exhibitors have been carefully selected for their interesting and high quality stock to ensure there is always something for everyone. The elegance of the building provides a unique setting for Regency and country furniture, alongside decorative antiques for interior inspiration.

The Grove was built in 16th century and rebuilt approximately 100 years later by George and Bridget Darke. The early use of the building is not known, although the remains of an old archway high up on the front of the house was discovered during restoration suggesting a cart or carriage entrance. This falls in line with the first known use as a trap house in the late 1800s, when the 30ft. ballroom was one of the attractions for the guests. After the 1914-18 war, it became a Doctors' Surgery and remained so until 1997. A small courtyard to the side of the building displays garden furniture and architectural items.
